Julia Huxley founded Prior's Field a century ago as a "high-class school for girls". She was a brilliant scholar and outstanding teacher and encouraged a love of learning in her pupils. She not only encouraged the admiration of all that is good and great, but also inspired the girls to look beyond themselves in the hope of becoming good and responsible citizens.
