An independent school provides care and education to vulnerable children and young adults with complex needs. The school is situated on three estates beside the River Dee on the outskirts of Aberdeen. The school offers residential places for full term or weekly boarders as well as day places for local pupils.

Camphill Rudolf Steiner School offers an inclusive, comprehensive holistic care and education, known as Curative Education, for 88 pupils with complex special needs ranging from deprivation to autism from the age of 3-19 years. For pupils aged 16-19 years there is an extended schooling programme geared towards graduation and preparation for the future. The early childhood centre, 'Amber Kindergarten', offers childcare for children aged 3–6.5 years of age.

All pupils, day and residential, belong to a residential unit, known as 'house community'. In unique curative environment voluntary co-workers provide individual care and guidance to pupils, often on a one-to-one basis, under supervision of experienced senior co-workers. In School, the classes are grouped according to age, using the Waldorf curriculum, which encompasses the Scottish 5-14 Guidelines. The classes are small in size with high ratio staff to pupils. In addition, individual therapies are given to meet the specific needs of the pupils. Therapies offered include speech formation, physiotherapy, movement, art, riding, music, massage, play and counselling. Older pupils participate in a variety of craft workshops: pottery, willow-work, felt, candle, weaving, metal work, woodwork and in a Tools for Self-Reliance Workshop.

The Camphill Rudolf Steiner School is accredited with the National Autistic Society and registered with the Scottish Care Commission. It is inspected by the Care Commission and HM Inspectorate of Education.
