[edit] Overview

Enjoying a peaceful suburban setting in west Chislehurst, being only 3 - 4 minutes walk from Elmstead Woods Station and within easy reach of Central London, Babington House School has a long and fascinating past.

The school was founded in 1887 in North Park, Eltham, by Madame Rossell, a distinguished Belgian lady who was particularly interested in fostering the arts for 'young ladies and small boys'. Among her friends was the author Lord Thomas Babington Macaulay, whose family name, Babington, was adopted as the name of the School.

Year 8 Trip to Hever Castle|19/09/2006|On Tuesday 19th September Year 8 had and all-day visit to a Hever Castle.

The trip included a tour of the castle, one pupil quoted " We were very lucky because we were the only people in the castle and were allowed in before it opened". While they had lunch pupils completed a history questionnaire about all they had seen in the castle.

After lunch everyone gathered by the lake to be given their Geography questionnaires. After a discussion with Mrs Pratt pupils went off in groups to find out the answers. This involved a trip to the centre of the maze and a rather wet and hilarious visit to the water maze.

The trip seems to have been enjoyed by all...." I was drenched, but loved every minute of it. We all got changed then set of home. It was a great day, I loved it !!!!!"
