Aysgarth is home to a close and thriving community of children and staff. Our goal is to find and develop the best in every child by providing a caring, stimulating and comfortable environment.
Aysgarth Prep School was founded in 1877 as a boarding school to prepare boys to go on to public schools all over the country. This is still what we are today.
We believe strongly in the value of boarding as a means of developing a boy in every respect - to be happy, confident, courteous, independent and ambitious. Employers today look for these characteristics as well as the academic excellence that we provide. The chapel is at the heart of the school reflecting the importance of the Christian faith and values taught within the school.

Miss Clarke marries at Ripon Cathedral|16/10/2006|Congratulations to Miss Clarke who was married to Mr. Martin on 30 September at Ripon Cathedral. The Aysgarth Senior Choir sang at the ceremony. Miss Clarke teaches English at the school. %%% ISI Inspection Report published|16/9/2006|Aysgarth was inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate in May 2006 and the report was published this September. In its conclusion, it stated that "The school meets its aims and aspirations to a high degree".
